Mika Lehnfeld: From the schoolmon press to the soccer professional in Lübeck!

Lübeck. A gray Friday morning, drizzle and cold wind-the perfect backdrop for a new beginning! Mika Lehnfeld, the 18-year-old football star of VfB Lübeck, finally exchanged the school desk for the training ground. After completing the St. Jürgen comprehensive school, where he was in the 13th grade, he made the decision to concentrate fully on his football career. "The burden of school and training was quite high for me. I wanted to concentrate on one thing," explains the talented wing player.

Lehnfeld, which recently left his school obligations behind, now has the opportunity to train regularly with the professionals. Before that, this was a challenge due to school days. "I am happy to have another player regularly in training and in the squad," says coach Guerino Capretti, who supports the young talent's decision. But the school has not completely disappeared from its life: in order to achieve the technical college entrance qualification, Lehnfeld plans a voluntary social year with his consultant agency "DC International Sports" in Cologne, which he wants to complete in the Home Office in Lübeck.

Lehnfeld's football career in focus

The way to the professional is paved! Lehnfeld, who made his debut in the 3rd division on May 3, 2024 and scored his first goal, has already shown eleven missions for the first team in the Regionalliga Nord. Now that he can fully devote himself to training, the "new professional" hopes that his commitment pays off and that he will get even more playing time. "I want to continue to train well here and show performance. Then I take a look where it leads," said Lehnfeld optimistically. Football is his life and the future could be radiant!
