Fewer ATM explosions: Security measures are having an impact!
In Schleswig-Holstein, the number of ATM explosions has experienced a dramatic decline. According to the State Criminal Police Office, there was only one completed case and three attempts this year, while eight successful explosions were registered in 2023. This drastic decrease is primarily due to improved security measures by banks and successful investigative tactics by the police, such as NDR reported.
An incident in this context occurred in October in Wedel, Pinneberg district. Unknown perpetrators attempted to blow up an ATM, resulting in a blast that injured two employees of a security company. These ATM attacks, while often involving significant risk, nevertheless demonstrate that security measures are increasingly successful in preventing such acts, as well TV feature film has observed.
The positive developments are not only limited to Schleswig-Holstein; a similar trend can also be seen in the neighboring federal states of Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which significantly increases security in the region.
