Viennese Frank ends sailing career: new life according to gold and bronze!
Wien, Österreich - Frank, the Austrian sailor, decided today to end her career. Together with her sailing partner Lukas Haberl, she announced in December that the collaboration in Nacra 17 would end. For the 32-year-old Viennese, her biggest career highlight was the Olympic bronze medal, which she won in Brazil in 2016 alongside Thomas Zajac. This achievement also brought her the award as an Austria's team of the year. At the last Olympic Games in Marseille, she only finished 15th with Haberl, which meant that she was now considering a decision about her future, as the Kleinezeitung.at reported.
a new phase of life
As Frank said in conversation, she had to deal with her decision -making. "I can stop happy," she emphasized. The challenges, especially with regard to weight in sailing, had a decisive influence on their career. When asked how things are going on professionally, she expressed that she still has no concrete plans, but tends towards working life - preferably in a position that has to do with sport. A full -time coaching job is out of the question for her because it strives for a more regular everyday life, after twelve years of hard work at the Olympic level, as also emphasized Burgenland.orf.at.
During her career,Frank has completed the MBA in Business Administration and Sport and sees her time in competitive sports as educational, full of valuable experience. From now on she would like to concentrate on new challenges away from the water, but her commitment to sport will continue to take an important place in her life.
