Before the meeting, it became known at around 12.50 p.m. that around 50 people hooded partly in the Audimax of the university were located, where they attached transparent and paper sheets with reference to the Middle East conflict. One person called the slogan "From the River to the Sea" from a window.

reactions of university management and politics

The university president Bettina Völter said that the police were a “threat” and should not have been called. This view met with criticism from Berlin's ruling mayor Kai Wegner, who supported the police. There was also a protest in the university, while a demonstration with around 80 participants took place immediately after the Audimax was occupied.

In addition, the police determined the arrested events against the arrested events. Although no criminal content was found on the transparent, a specific slogan was classified as anti -Semitic. Science senator Ina Czyborra underlined the need for police presence and thanked the emergency services for their work.

The Presidium of the Alice Salomon University offered the occupiers a room for further exchange, whereby this was linked to the condition of a respectful cooperation. In addition, planned workshops and discussions about the Instagram channel "Not in our name Ash" were announced. The university is committed to rejection of anti -Semitism and recognizes racist structures while it wants to act against them without violence and at the same time supports the Palestinian civilian population.
