New Year's reception in the museum: punch, music and historical insights!
On Sunday, January 19th, the New Year's reception will take place in the Museum im Marstall from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event offers a cozy atmosphere with punch and music and is aimed at anyone interested in learning more about the museum's activities. Entry is free.
Dr. Cornell Babendererde, the first deputy mayor and candidate for the Bundestag, will open the event with a welcoming speech. Afterwards Prof. Dr. Rolf Wiese, the chairman of the local history and museum association, led the afternoon and informed visitors about upcoming activities and plans.
The new museum year
The focus of the new museum year includes the 30th anniversary of the “Schloß Arbeitsgemeinschaft”, which was founded in 1995 to promote the historic Winsen Castle. A large special exhibition as well as lectures and events under the motto “Ducal Winsen” are also planned for 2025. A restoration of Winsen's smallest house at Luhestraße 19, which was purchased two years ago, is also planned.
Another important point is the establishment of our own foundation “Heimat und Museum Winsen (Luhe)” to ensure long-term cultural work. Every year the Museum im Marstall offers around 80 events, two special exhibitions as well as guided tours and programs for children to enrich the cultural landscape of the region.
In addition, the event will be accompanied musically by musicians from the Winsen Music School. How District newspaper weekly reported, the New Year's reception is an excellent opportunity to get to know the work of the museum and the planned projects. This event is therefore the ideal time to discover the museum and its activities in more detail, as well Museum in the stables added.
