Vin Diesel greets Dwayne Johnson and is reminiscent of her famous hostility

The roots of the conflict

In 2016, Johnson published a photo on his verified Instagram account, which he has now removed, in which he spoke about the filming of "The Fate of the Furious". "Some (male co-stars) behave like upright men and real professionals, while others don't," Johnson wrote at the time, making it speculated that he meant diesel.

teamwork and disagreements

Johnson also posted a clip from the shooting on Instagram and emphasized: "You know how much I believe in the concept of teamwork. That means respecting everyone, their time and their value when they are on my set or work with our production company. And as with every family there will be conflicts."

"Family will have different opinions and fundamentally different beliefs," added Johnson. "For me, a conflict can be a good thing if it is followed with a great solution."

Diesel's perspective

In an interview with Men’s Health in 2021, Diesel gave its view of the conflict with Johnson. According to Diesel, as a producer for the franchise, he had to follow a hard line opposite Johnson, who played Luke Hobbs.

"It was a hard character to embody, the hobbs character," said Diesel. "My approach at the time was a lot of Tough Love to bring the performance to where it had to be."

different philosophies

Johnson did not seem to be completely appreciated by Diesel's approach. "I came to the conclusion that we have a fundamentally different philosophical approach of how we make films and work together," said Johnson in 2018 with Rolling Stone. "It took a while, but I am grateful for this clarity, regardless of whether we will ever work together again or not."

Another look at the cooperation

In an article by Vanity Fair in 2021, Johnson dismissed Diesel's comments on his spectacle. "I have already had a lot of experience. In contrast to him, I can't get out of the theater world," said Johnson.

"I grew up differently and come from a completely different culture and the surrounding area," he continued. "I go into every project with full commitment. If I have the feeling that there are things that have to be clarified or regulated, then I do it. And it's so easy."

Current developments

Johnson appeared in the spin-off "Fast & Furious Present: Hobbs & Shaw" published in 2019, but was not seen in the film "F9" from 2021. Since then he and diesel have not worked together.
