Details for kidnapping

BESIGYE, who was Museveni's doctor during the guerrilla war and later became a vehement critic, was kidnapped on Saturday during the book presentation of the experienced Kenyan opposition politician Martha Karua. Byanyima informed via the social platform X: "I was reliably informed that he was in a military prison in Kampala. We, his family and his lawyers, demand to see him. He is not a soldier. Why is he captured in a military prison?"

allegations of human rights violations

The government of Musevenis is repeatedly with human rights violations associated against opposition leaders and supporters, including illegal detention, torture and extrajudicial executions. Government representatives deny the allegations and claim that those arrested would be legally treated and processed properly by the court system.
