Tgl: The innovative indoor golf league by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy

After years of anticipation, the state-of-the-art hall golf league, which is led by two of the great modern golfers, is finally ready to start on Tuesday evening. The league, known as TGL Florida held and transferred live to ESPN. Originally, the league was supposed to start two years ago, but now the time has finally come.

a revolutionary format for golf

The league aims to address a younger audience by taking place in a virtual format in a stadium with 1,500 seats. TGL is the idea of TMRW Sports, a company that was co -founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The opening game of the new league will have the golf players Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick and Xander Schauffele from the New York Golf Club against Shane Lowry, Wyndham Clark and Ludvig Åberg from the Bay Golf Club.

modern technologies in golf play

Before the opening game on Tuesday, McIlroy described the concept as "Golf, but newly thought, and tries to bring Golf to the 21st century." He explained that the league contains many technologies to integrate golf into the digital age. "There are numerous concepts from other sports, such as a shot clock and time-outs that you don't see in the traditional Golf. (We want to) address a wider sports audience," he added.

MCILROY and WOODS were very committed during the entire planning phase of the tournament. "Tiger and I were involved from the start, and every time I am here in the Sofi Center, I am overwhelmed by the size of the screen and the fact that we can present something that looks like Golf," said Mcilroy.

The format of the league

On Tuesday evening, six teams with 24 microphone stars of the PGA Tour start in a 15-game round of the regular season in the arena in Palm Beach Gardens. The highlight will be the final series around the Sofi Cup on March 24th. Golfers from various four players will hit tea and rapprochement strokes in a 64 x 53 foot simulator before switching to the Greezone- an area that can be uniquely inclined and rotated on each hole.

"The playing areas are very realistic," said McIlroy. "If you play out of the Rough, you have to think about whether it will be a flyer or whether the ball comes out gently. There are many aspects that you would take into account in a real golf course." A single match is held in two sessions, with each encounter consists of three players per team that compete on 15 specially designed holes in two different formats.
