Love, power and trials: Shakespeare's classic in new shine!

Mönchengladbach, Deutschland - The performance of "How you like it" at the Krefeld-Mönchengladbach Theater is very popular and will still be seen on two dates: today, on December 29th and on January 9th. The staging of Dedi Baron deals with love and trials in an often hard -hearted world. The action follows Duke Frederick, who illegally snatches power for his brother and banishes him. In the course, the love story unfolds between Rosalind, the daughter of the banished brother, and Orlando, who has to flee during a fight because his brother is looking for his life.

The escape of the exile leads you into a forest where Rosalind, disguised as a man, hits Orlando. Orlando does not recognize her what Rosalind exploits to give him lessons in love. Dedi Baron staging is characterized by elements such as an inflatable unicorn, red plastic hearts, ruffles, feathers and glitter and supports by a lively use of the language of the ensemble, such as theater-kr-mg.de reported.

special features of the staging

The stage is decorated with over 130 national flags, including the Palestinian flag, which symbolizes claims for power. These flags are used in different forms, including as accessories and skirts. A modern translation by Thomas Brasch from the 1990s is also used, which complements the original text. Rosalind introduces the audience into the different relationships of the characters and ultimately considers a plea for the power of love.

On January 17, the ballet "Love and Death" will also be performed for the last time. This ballet evening comprises three choreographies by Robert North, which also includes "facets of love", which is inspired by piano music by Johannes Brahms. In this piece, love relationships are discussed in different phases of life. André Parvenov accompanies the performance on the grand piano, supported by the Lower Rhine Symphonics. Tickets are available on www.theater-kr-mg.de as well as at the box at 02166/61 51 100.
