Kevin Magnussen's Formula 1 career is coming to an end, but the 32-year-old Dane has already found his next challenge. From the 2025 season, Magnussen will compete as a works driver for BMW M Motorsport and support the LMDh program. This reports Laola1. Magnussen, who has competed in an impressive 185 races in Formula 1 since 2014, will drive the BMW M Hybrid V8, a vehicle particularly used in prestigious endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

A new chapter in motorsport

Magnussen expressed his enthusiasm about the new task: "I am proud to represent such an iconic motorsport brand like BMW. After ten years in Formula 1, I am starting a new, exciting chapter," he is quoted as saying BMW Group. The exact races he will take part in have not yet been finalized but will be announced at a later date. Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, emphasizes that Magnussen is a great addition to the LMDh program and sees his extensive experience as a significant advantage.

Magnussen has already gained experience in sports car prototypes, which should make it easier for him to get used to the new vehicle class. “I can’t wait to start preparations and look forward to starting the 2025 season with the rest of the team,” he added. With this new role he will face a new, exciting challenge in the world of endurance racing.
