A dreamy yes: wedding on the tractor shovel in Eichberg!
The former elementary school in Wielands has found a new purpose as an event center and clubhouse since 2013. Once an independent community with around 240 residents, Wielands now belongs to the municipality of Großdietmanns. The elementary school became the central meeting point for the village community and is intended to bring young and old together, reported noen.at.
The “Old School” is the heart of village renewal in Wielands and is run by the association of the same name, which has proposed and implemented projects to improve coexistence since it was founded in 2003. With currently around 130 members, under the leadership of chairman Rupert Kitzler, the clubhouse offers space for numerous social events, lectures and private celebrations for a small fee. The historical research of the place is also supported here, as can be seen on the association's website, which is also available on grossdietmanns.gv.at can be retrieved.
Events and community projects
The club's commitment, which includes both cultural and sporting activities, has contributed to the “Old School” being more lively than ever. The combination of historical roots and modern social needs makes this place an important center for all generations in Wielands. In particular, the idea that the clubhouse can also be used by private individuals for events promotes the community and ensures a lively exchange among the villagers.
