The 11th European Tolerance Talks, under the provocative title “WahnSinn – World in Disorder?”, will take place from June 1st to 7th, 2025 in the Carinthian mountain village of Fresach and Villach. This important event is organized by the organization “Denk.Raum.Fresach” in cooperation with Club Carinthia. The aim is to discuss current geopolitical challenges and their impact on the international order. “We are moved by issues such as war, migration, extremism and the crisis of liberal democracy,” explained Hannes Swoboda, President of the Board of Trustees, during the program presentation in Klagenfurt, as well as by Kathpress reported.

Over 30 experts from philosophy, religion, business and science will provide valuable contributions to the debate during the event. Prominent speakers such as long-time correspondent for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Cathrin Kahlweit, will give the opening address, followed by forums such as the European and Economic Forums. Governor Peter Kaiser emphasized the importance of optimism and the need to preserve the basic values ​​of liberal democracy in the face of growing risks. “The tolerance talks offer a platform that not only critically analyzes but also develops future-proof solutions,” Kaiser added as Ktn.gv.at noted.

Program and highlights

The program includes a literary forum, a youth forum and international discussions on the most pressing issues of our time. The highlights also include the awarding of the European Tolerance Prize on June 5th and a poetry slam on June 6th. A special event will take place on March 25th in Vienna, where possible answers to the current crises will be sought at a European forum. The focus here is on dealing with the “America First” policy and its influence on international relations. The situation calls for a more critical view and new answers to enable a peaceful and just global future.
