A look into the future: 175 new journeyman celebrate in the Waldshut district!

The applause sounded in the town hall, while Vice World Champion Yannic Schlachter, 25, impressively emphasized the importance of the craft: "Crafts are talented. Be proud of it!"

district craftsman Thomas Kaiser paid tribute to the extraordinary achievements and emphasized that four graduates became national winners and many other chamber and guild winners. Eight talented craftsmen took part in the prestigious German championship "German Craft Skills" and showed how strong the craft is in the region!

Despite the often summoned shortage of skilled workers, there are bright spots in the craft! In the Waldshut district, 4081 young people are in training - a small decline of 1.5 percent compared to the previous year. However, the proportion of women among the trainees is remarkable 17 percent and increases continuously in some professions. The development shows that more high school graduates discover the possibilities in the craft!

The focus was also on the most outstanding businesses in the region. Emma Ladenberger, confectioner at the Bockstaller bakery, is celebrated as the most successful trainee. Also Janec Metzler, interior decorator with Dominik Seidler, and Maurice Sabouret, Metallbauer at Bruno Kech, shone as the winner of her professions.

The solemn atmosphere was musically accompanied by the Casal Quartet and underlined the success of the new journeyman. President Werner Rottler from the Chamber of Crafts Constance emphasized: "Your journeyman's letter is the key to countless possibilities in the future!"
