Schwerin expects volleyball highlight: SSC meets world champion Istanbul!

Schwerin, Deutschland - Schwerin - an exciting duel is imminent! On Wednesday evening, the SSC Palmberg Schwerin will meet the Turkish volleyball elite, Eczacıbaşı Dynavit Istanbul in the second group game of the CEV Champions League. As an outsider, the German record champion goes into this encounter, while the star group from Istanbul is arriving as the reigning club world champion. But it is precisely this challenge that awakens the anticipation in the Schwerin team!

After an exciting champions League start in Paris, where they celebrated an impressive victory, and the painful trophy in Suhl, SSC captain Anne Hölzig looks back on a mixed week. "Paris was a great experience, our first Champions League game. We mastered it confidently and had a lot of fun, even if there were few spectators. But the setback in Suhl was tough. Unfortunately, we could not take advantage of our chances in the cup." Nevertheless, the anticipation for the home game against Istanbul prevails: "A home game in the Champions League is always special, and then against such a top team. Players like Boskovic are absolute world class-that will be a challenge, but also a highlight."

The expectations are high!

coach Felix Koslowski sees the key to success in the support of the audience and the optimal day of his players. "We play at home and the fans can create an atmosphere that a team like Istanbul can impress. We have to grow beyond ourselves on the field, on the bench and with the spectators to create a surprise." Despite respect for the strength of the opponent, Koslowski remains combative: "Istanbul is peppered with world -class players like Boskovic or Hande Baladin. But we too can play volleyball and have the opportunity to set accents with passion and a moment of the surprise moment."
