A shocking video is causing a stir in Bremerhaven: In a TikTok clip, a 67-year-old threatened to “stab” people with a southern appearance on Christmas Day. "Everyone. I take enough knives with me," he declared in a threatening tone, which immediately caught the attention of TikTok users and led to police being alerted. The man was temporarily arrested on Sunday evening and examined by a psychiatrist. As the crown reported, however, no danger to the population was identified. The suspect admitted that he had consumed alcohol at the time the video was recorded and described his statements as “the greatest nonsense”.
The Bremerhaven police reacted immediately, although the investigation showed that the man had not previously made similar statements. He is now being investigated for disturbing the public peace, which could result in a fine or a possible prison sentence of up to three years. The situation has worsened as part of the security measures at Christmas markets, especially after the tragic incident in Magdeburg in which several people were killed. The horror report about the threat at the Bremerhaven Christmas market has prompted the police to take increased measures to protect citizens, such as Weser courier reported.
