Police and public prosecutor: Together strong in operational training!
Grabenstätt, Deutschland - In an exciting exchange, a delegation from the Traunstein public prosecutor visited the central operational services (ZED) of the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South in Erlstätt. This inspection served not only the cooperation between the two institutions, but also the direct insight into the challenges of police work. The prosecutors experienced various operational scenarios up close, such as the defense against a knife attack, and were actively involved in the simulations. Such practical experiences help the lawyers to better understand and evaluate the witnesses and deployment reports, as the Bavaria reported .
The interaction with the service dogs of the ZED was particularly impressive. This special unit, also known as a support and service unit, carries out a variety of tasks, including the support of the local police authorities. Each service dog is trained both as a protective dog and as a search dog, whereby the specialization in certain areas takes place in the course of the training. During a demonstration, a data carrier detection dog that found a USB stick hidden in wood was impressed. These skills make a significant contribution to the security of evidence and enable the successful transfer of criminals, which underlines the importance of Central Emergency Services.
The ZED, which was set up between 2006 and 2009 as part of a Bavarian police reform, bundle important police resources and increase efficiency. With special equipment such as distance electro pulse devices, they are set up across the board and thus offer indispensable support for the local police forces. The positive feedback from the recent exchange indicates that such visits will take place regularly in the future in order to further intensify the cooperation and achieve common increases in efficiency.
