Mother under suspicion: tragedy in Rosenheim – two children dead!

In a tragic incident, two small children, 6 and 7 years old, were found dead in their home in Rosenheim on December 25, 2024. Their 39-year-old mother is under strong suspicion of having fatally injured the children with a tool during Christmas Eve or on the night of Christmas Day. The mother herself was found with injuries and is said to have tried to take her own life.

The investigation was initiated immediately. According to findings from interviews, interrogations, crime scene work and autopsies, the suspicion against the mother has been confirmed. She was brought before an investigating judge on the second holiday and taken into custody. The motives and background of the crime are still unclear, but it is suspected that psychological problems in the mother could have contributed to this incident. Specialist medical examinations are therefore planned to gain further insight into how in southern Thuringia reported.

Reactions and support

After the incident, crisis intervention teams from the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) were deployed to provide psychosocial emergency care for relatives, friends and the social environment of the affected family. The police officers deployed are also receiving support due to the emotional stress caused by this tragic case. The assistance is now coordinated by the support group of the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters and the Central Psychological Service of the Bavarian Police Bavaria Police reported.
