Music dispute escalates at Christmas party: police intervene!

There was an infamous incident at the Salzburg Linien Christmas party last week that brought the police to the scene. The “winter magic” in the coach house on Alpenstrasse, which was originally intended to create a festive atmosphere, quickly got out of control. Various employees, all from different cultural backgrounds, argued heatedly over the choice of music - a classic problem at celebrations, but in this case it ended in physical altercations. According to reports from the crown Fists flew, and despite the efforts of other employees to break up the arguments, the situation could not be calmed down quickly enough.

Police and Red Cross in action

In the midst of the chaos, the police were finally called, who intervened immediately and brought the situation under control. The Red Cross was also on site to stand by in case of injuries. The Salzburger Linien distanced itself from the incident in a statement and announced that it would examine the legal consequences for the employees involved. Harald Haidenberger, spokesman for the company, made it clear: “Such behavior on the company premises will not be tolerated.”

The police investigation is still ongoing and those involved in the dispute face serious consequences. It is still being examined which official measures will be taken against the aggressors. A Salzburg Linien employee described the incident as an “unpleasant event that has nothing to do with the company itself,” while the works council has already signaled that the situation needs to be discussed internally. However, the behavior of those involved could have serious consequences for their professional future, as Haidenberger explained: "Once the relevant police report is available, the consequences under employment law will be examined."
