A dramatic case from Baden-Württemberg has taken a fatal turn: A 37-year-old man was sentenced today to twelve years in prison by the Tübingen regional court after he brutally killed his 30-year-old wife. Loud tagesschau.de, the defendant lured his wife to a remote parking lot in Bad Liebenzell in June and stabbed her with a knife. He then placed her body in the back seat of his vehicle and drove onto the A81 motorway as if nothing had happened. There was finally a serious accident near Epfendorf in which the man was critically injured.
When the accident was recorded, the police discovered the woman's body in the car, which immediately raised suspicions of a homicide. The prosecution argued that jealousy was the motive for the cruel act. The wife had previously decided to separate from him and turn to another man, which the defendant could not accept. Although prosecutors demanded a life sentence for murder, the man was ultimately found guilty of manslaughter, the reported Stuttgart newspaper.
