Karaoke randals in Vienna: police officers under fire!
In early Tuesday morning, around 3:30 a.m., there was a tangible discussion between several men in front of a karaoke restaurant in Vienna-Leopoldstadt. The origin of the dispute remains unclear whether it was due to poor performances or excessive alcohol consumption. A loud verbal argument that a passer -by noticed and immediately alerted the police escalated quickly into a physical argument when the officials arrived, the situation calmed down for a short time. But the aggression soon also directed the emergency services, as police spokeswoman Julia Schick reported. In order to control the situation, the police had to request reinforcement, since several people present with facial and hand injuries continue to actively participate in the dispute.
The situation continued to escalate when five of the ten attendees began to fight again. Despite repeated warnings, the participants remained uncooperative and even attacked the uniformed officials. In the course of the conflict, a police officer used pepper spray, which finally calmed down the situation. Four men, including a 17-year-old Filipino citizen and three Chinese citizens aged 22, 38 and 40, were removed for medical care, but everyone could later be released into domestic care. They were reported for suspicion of rising trade, while a policeman also suffered minor injuries, so Puls24 reported .
