Massachusetts state police were called to Logan International Airport in Boston on Tuesday evening after a passenger on a JetBlue flight opened a door on the plane, activating the emergency slide mechanism, police and the airline reported.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to JetBlue Flight 161 to a report that a passenger "without warning and suddenly opened the door of an aircraft to exit the aircraft." This was announced in a police statement.
