Ex-girlfriend recorded: man receives a ban on entering after arrest

In the night of Monday, a 28-year-old was arrested in Vienna after being suspected of having held his ex-girlfriend in his apartment for several hours against her will. According to oe24.at , the police were alerted after a relative of the woman had filed a missing person notice. Fortunately, the woman was found to be found in her own apartment a short time later. She told the officials that her ex-boyfriend destroyed her cell phone and prevented her from entering his car. Finally he locked her up in his apartment until she could convince him to leave her free.

The suspect was arrested when he returned to his apartment by car. A ban on entering and approaching was issued against him, which prevents him from approaching the woman to a radius of 100 meters. So reports Austria.gv.at on the legal consequences in such cases. Such a ban is imposed if there is indications of an upcoming risk to the person concerned. The ban initially applies for two weeks, but can be extended if the endangered person submits an application to the court.

There is also suspicion of persistent persecution, bodily harm and coercion. In the event of a disregard for the ban on entering and approaching, the police must be contacted immediately, and the suspect could be arrested if there are repeated violations. In order to avoid such incidents, the police have the authority to collect the keys of the apartment in question and enable those affected to take their personal items with you.
