On Wednesday morning there was a dramatic incident in Launsdorf when a 48-year-old woman alarmed the police and stated that she was threatened with a knife by her 63-year-old husband. This disturbing incident occurred in front of the couple's apartment. Fortunately, the woman's 30-year-old son was able to help by securing the terrace door against the penetration of his father and thus preventing worse, as kaernten.orf reported.
The police quickly reacted to the woman's emergency call. The emergency services of the police stations in Launsdorf and St. Veit an der Glan temporarily arrested the 63-year-old. This incident also led to a provisional weapons ban for the accused. He was then transferred to the Klagenfurt prison. Such drastic measures are necessary to avoid further dangers for those affected.
