Vienna emergency medicine: FISUS increase chances of survival dramatic!

A current study illuminates the dramatic improvement of the survival rates in cardiac arrests in Vienna, which was made possible by a special emergency medicine system. According to [Kleine Zeitung] (https://www.kleinezeitung.at/service/newsticker/chronik/20000832/wiener emergency medicine system, the results show that the survival rate is between 8 and 11.3 percent. The investigation, published in "Resuscitation Plus" by Andrea Kornflehl and her co-authors, analyzed 7,664 cases of sudden cardiac arrest in people over 18 years between January 2019 and December 2023.

During this time, 3,506 emergencies (45.7 percent) had specially trained staff on site, known as Field Supervisors (FISU). The support of these specialists showed significant results: In around 41 percent of the patients, the cardiovascular arrest was successfully eliminated, while only 26 percent of the cases could be successfully treated without FISU.

Survival and hospital development rates

The survival rate after cardiac arrest was 31 percent in cases with FISU, compared to 21 percent without this support. The hospital discharge rate also increased: 10.6 percent with FISU compared to 8.3 percent without. The neurological conditions of the patients in the event of hospital were statistically significantly better, with 7 percent in the group with FISU compared to 6.4 percent without.

These results illustrate the urgency of immediate lay resuscitation and the use of defibrillators, since cardiac arrests can lead to severe brain damage within minutes. The presence of FISUS significantly improves the results after non -injurious cardiac arrest in urban areas.

Technological trends in emergency medicine

The study also refers to international studies that examine solutions such as video connections and drones to improve medical care in difficult to access areas. In the future, these approaches could help increase the survival rates.

Apart from medical developments, there are also cultural trends that shape public life. This is how the band remains Ghost Furthermore in the headlines. Founded in Linköping, Sweden in 2006, the band celebrated international successes with its unique style, the elements of the Heavy Metal, Doom Metal and Psychedelian Rock. Her album "Impera", released in March 2022, and the latest EP "Phantomime" illustrate the continued relevance of the band in the music scene.
