Workers in Göttlesbrunn rescued after landslide

On Thursday, a serious accident occurred in Göttlesbrunn-Arbesthal, a town in the Bruck an der Leitha district in Lower Austria. A 46-year-old worker was buried in a cunette by falling masses of earth and was trapped underground up to his upper body.

The emergency services were alerted immediately and the fire department was quickly on site. According to police reports, it took about an hour before the man could be freed from his predicament. During this dramatic rescue operation, the fire brigade had great difficulty removing the earth so as not to further endanger the injured person.

Rescue and medical care

After the successful rescue, the 46-year-old was flown to the AUVA trauma center in Vienna-Meidling in a rescue helicopter called “Christophorus 9”. There he is receiving intensive medical care while the exact injuries still have to be determined. The rescue workers worked quickly and professionally, which shows how important well-organized emergency care is.

While the circumstances of the accident continue to be investigated, the safety of workers in similar jobs remains an important issue. Such incidents highlight the need for preventive safety measures and training to avoid similar accidents in the future.
