Schnedlitz: Father's Day more important than the colorful pride policy!

FPÖ general secretary Michael Schledlitz sharply criticized the priorities of the political landscape in Austria today, June 8, 2025. In a statement, he emphasizes that Pride Month receives more attention than Father's Day, which is celebrated for the 70th time this year. Schledlitz believes that the system parties, especially black-red-pink, do not adequately appreciate the values of families.

He refers to the suspension of the valorization of family services, which is an additional burden for many families. "The FPÖ actively campaigns for the interests of families and children," he said. Finally, he wishes all fathers that they can enjoy their special day with their loved ones and emphasize the importance of family structures.

Criticism of taxpayers' money for pride activities

Wendelin Mölzer, FPÖ culture spokesman, also critically commented on the millions of millions that flow into the promotion of Pride Month. In a podcast of the FPÖ club, he explained that the use of public funds for Pride activities was unjustified. Mölzer argues that sexuality should not be discussed publicly, and emphasizes that nobody in Austria is discriminated against because of his sexual orientation.

"Production and the in-front primary games of a minority is not acceptable," continued Mölzer. He speaks for the support of traditional family structures (father, mother, children) and demands that the LGBTQ movement should finance its activities itself. In addition, he warns of the involvement of children and adolescents in pride events and criticizes the possible early sexualization in educational institutions.

The FPÖ also calls for a rethink when awarding funds for "LGBTQ" funding. Mölzer explains that cultural institutions such as the Albertina in Vienna should concentrate on its actual task, without ideological charging and without the promotion of political productions with tax money.
