Christmas shipping under pressure: an overview of deadlines and opening times!

The run-up to Christmas is just around the corner and the post office has set important deadlines for sending packages. Loud vienna.at Eco letters for domestic shipping must be posted by December 17th at the latest, while the deadline for Prio letters ends on December 19th. The deadline is shortened for shipping to neighboring countries: Priority letters must be sent by December 13th, Eco letters by December 10th. International shipments must be posted by December 6th to arrive on time.

To ensure that the last Christmas presents arrive on time, the post office is offering extended opening hours. As the partially state-owned company reports, most post offices in Austria will be open on Saturday, December 21st, at least from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Monday, December 23rd, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Christmas Eve, December 24th, the branches will also be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. In addition, more than half of the postal partners can offer collections on Christmas Saturdays in order to cope with the high volume of parcels.

For customers who want to keep an eye on their shipments, Deutsche Post makes it possible via the Tracking easy tracking. Using the shipment number on the delivery receipt, customers can view the current status of their letters online or follow the progress using the Post & DHL app. Telephone customer service is also available to provide information about processing and delivery. Possible obstacles to delivery are also documented, although confirmation by the recipient's signature is not provided.
