Record in the state parliament: Who are the new faces of politics?

The upcoming election of the new state government ensures a fresh wind in the state parliament, where several mandates have to be re -awarded. This situation arises because the new government members often do without their MP mandates in order to protect the political balance in the new government. It is a complex process that makes one thing clear: if you are lucky enough to be a successor, you get a second chance to prove yourself politically.

A total of seven gos will be pruned on November 20 in a special session of the state parliament. Anyone who counts depends on the decision of the newly elected government members. The governor Markus Wallner (ÖVP), for example, accepted the mandate from his home district of Feldkirch, which means that the regulators depend on the political lists of the districts in which these mandates become free.

The way to parliament

The status of a replacement member in the state parliament can be compared with the presentation of a "crown prince". You have the opportunity to move to the state parliament when the original member clears its place. In each case, if the seven government members do without their mandates, it is the turn of the replacement candidates. This applies in particular to the people who are on the lists in the elections behind the new government members.

The possible successors are already in the starting blocks. In the case of Markus Wallner, Gerda Schnetzer-Sutterlüty, the Vice Mayor of Sulz, would move up for the ÖVP. With Barbara Schöbi-Fink, who could also be elected again as a member of the state government, her mandate would be handed over to Julia Berchtold, who, thanks to her preferred votes, changed the order on the list.

The candidates around the FPÖ

For the FPÖ, Kornelia Spiß, who already worked in the state parliament until 2014, could take the place of Christof Bitschi. It will also be exciting in Feldkirch, where Michael Koschat is suitable for a mandate,, for example, Daniel Allgäuer or Andrea Kerbleder should be elected to the state government.

It should be noted that the successors can also do without their mandate. Therefore, the next lined up could get the chance to sit in the state parliament. This dynamic situation ensures lively discussions and strategic considerations within the parties.
