In order to ensure the safety of visitors, the administration was forced to clear the entire exhibition park. A total of 25 people with irritation symptoms required medical attention, while four of these people had to be hospitalized, as VOL.AT reported.

Storms and floods

The weather situation in Vorarlberg became critical towards the end of May, as heavy rain and floods affected large parts of the region. The affected areas included the Lake Constance area, the lower Rhine Valley, the Bregenzerwald and the Kleinwalsertal. However, the feared evacuation of the Leiblachtal did not occur, which is interpreted as a positive event in the emergency situation. The change in weather has not only caused concern, but has also led to significant deployments by emergency services to ensure the safety of residents.

Given the high divorce rate in Vorarlberg, where almost every second marriage does not last, there has been an increase in demand for marriage contracts. According to a survey by the Chamber of Notaries, only around 4% of marriages have such a contract. Richard Forster, spokesman for the Vorarlberg notaries, emphasized that since the legislative adjustment in 2010, a significant change has taken place that allows couples to make clear regulations regarding assets and real estate ownership, which is particularly important in the event of a separation.
