A dramatic use is emerging on the Pitztaler glacier in Tyrol, where a winter athlete plunged into a dangerous glacier column on Friday morning, around 10:30 a.m. The man fell about 30 meters deep and could only be recovered thanks to a brave rescue operation of the emergency services. According to the mountain rescuer Christian Rimml, the athlete had stayed on a snow bridge, which defused his condition. He remained comparatively lightly with minor injuries, reports the Krone .
