New Lienz calendar shows forgotten business of the past!

The new calendar of the Tyrolean Archives for Photographic Documentation and Art (TAP) for 2025 opens the doors to the past of the city of Lienz and is reminiscent of historical businesses that were part of urban life. As early as Wednesday, December 4, this special calendar, which documents the long history of trade in the region, will be available. Mayor Elisabeth Blanik emphasizes that the limited 500 copies, each cost 15 euros, not only provide nostalgic insights, but also serve a good cause: ten euros from the sale flow into the city's instant social fund, while the remaining five euros go to the TAP for the careful conception of the calendar.

The calendar presents fascinating recordings of historical business that go back to the early 20th century. Among the highlights can be found the "Iron Action Max Keller" on Johannesplatz as well as the business lines in Andrä-Kranz-Gasse and on Neue Platz. The photos, which were largely made available by private individuals, show lively snapshots of urban life, including the former "Fleischerei Prentner" and the "Babyhaus Glanzl". Guests and residents of Lienz can therefore look forward to a nostalgic journey through the streets of the city, which is made unforgettable by the pictorial records.

In addition, the small “loads” are documented in the calendar, which were once of great importance for urban care, including a general store and sewing shop as well as a mini -up house. These pictures are not only a memory of past times, but also to the people who run these business. The calendar cover comes from the stocks of the Baptist Collection and shows the Baptist photo business, which worked until 2014.
