MCI Campus Lienz: New courses arouse student interest!

On February 6, 2025, an informative event took place at the MCI Campus in Lienz, which was about the new range of courses by the Management Center Innsbruck. Around 200 students from several middle schools in East Tyrol and Carinthia had the opportunity to find out about the four new courses that will be offered from autumn 2025: industrial engineering, environmental and energy technology, mechatronics as well as health and sports technology. How Dolomite city reported, the focus of this presentation was on motivating elements and personal success stories of alumni, which offered the students an insight into the valuable networks and opportunities that can offer training on the MCI.

Inspirational insights and opportunities

The event was lively moderated by site manager Hansjörg Jaufenthaler, while Rector Andreas Altmann was switched on by video from the Yale library, one of the most renowned universities. This connection to an international network created an impressive atmosphere. Prominent speakers such as the CEO of Durst, Michael Gamper, underlined the potential of the MCI graduates with their personal stories. A central topic was the accessibility of the courses, especially for students without any technical knowledge. The lively participation and the multitude of questions from the students found positive response and indicate the increasing interest in an academic career in Lienz. The MCI in the region could continue to consolidate this commitment and is a promising step for the future development of the academic landscape at the location.
