Anniversary festival in Ambras Castle: A spectacle for the whole family!

On August 16, 2025, Ambras Innsbruck was the scene of one of the largest cultural festivals of Tyrol. The anniversary party, which took place 30 years after the first castle festival, attracted thousands of visitors from near and far. The event was organized by Ambras Innsbruck Castle in cooperation with the Innsbruck festival weeks of old music.

In bright summer weather, the big arrival started at 2:00 p.m. Innsbruck Mayor Johannes Anzengruber opened the celebrations that offered numerous attractions. The highlights included short tours of the Ambras armory chambers and the art and miracle chamber.

Art and entertainment

A special attraction as part of the festival was the special exhibition "The Art of Beauty", which can be seen from June 18 to October 5, 2025. In addition, concerts of the Rosarum Flores ensemble and the ensemble Tra Noi took place in the St. Nikolauskapelle and in the magnificent Spanish hall.

A novelty for the anniversary was the fire -spreading dragon Faffmir, who delighted the children and adults alike with his fights. Visitors were also able to take part in knight fights, flag swingers, acrobatics shows and dance performances. There were historical children's games, a painting station and face painting for the youngest guests.

Family festival with historical flair

The castle festival offered a historical atmosphere with culture and entertainment for the whole family. Visitors were able to enjoy the ambience and immerse themselves in the history of the castle. The main sponsors of the festival were the Innsbruck local companies, the Austrian Federal Gardens and the Federal Ministry of WKKMS as well as numerous local institutions and private donors.
