Innsbruck's ice hockey star Lattner stays awake until 2026-playoff dreams wake up!
HC Innsbruck has signed his captain Jan Lattner for two years until the 2025/26 season in Win2day Ice Hockey League. Lattner, who has been playing for the Tyrolean since the 2019/20 season and has already played almost 300 games, is considered an indispensable part of Head Coach Jordan Smotherman. The 33-year-old Czech expressed the wish to return to the playoffs with the team after the past season did not meet expectations, although the team was even first.
The past season was rated extremely positively by the fans. They supported the team in their return to the playoffs after five years, whereby the early departure is perceived as regrettable. Lattner, who previously played in Ebel at Orli Znojmo and was both captain and vice captain there, now describes Tyrol as his second home. Head Coach Mitch O’Keefe praises Lattner's decisive contribution to the best season in club history and emphasizes his role as a leader.
goals for the coming season
The goals for the coming season are clearly set: Lattner and the team want to bring a good group on the ice and strive for continuous improvements. The focus should not only be on sporting success, but also the return to the loyal fans who supported the team in the past season. Sports manager Max Steinacher emphasizes Lattner's influence on the team success and sees him as an important factor for culture in the team.
All eyes are now on Lattner and the Innsbrucker, while they are preparing for the coming season and hope to be able to inspire the fans again. The captain and his team have the opportunity to learn from the experience of last season and to continue to assert themselves in the new game round of the ICE Hockey League. The support of the fans will continue to play a major role.
