Rescue operation in Puch: 78-year-old rescued from house during fire

There was a dramatic fire in Puch near Weiz on Thursday afternoon. A fire broke out in a residential building for unknown reasons while a 78-year-old resident was sleeping in the building. In a critical situation, the 28-year-old wife of the man's grandson reacted quickly and noticed the emerging fire. She woke up the sleeping grandfather-in-law in time, which was crucial to his rescue.

While the young woman alerted the fire department, the 78-year-old tried to bring the fire under control together with neighbors. However, despite their efforts, it was in vain. Only around 30 firefighters from the local fire departments in Puch and Floing were finally able to put out the fire.

Deployment of the fire brigade

The rapid deployment of the fire brigade was crucial. Under the pressure of the flames, the firefighters did valuable work to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
