Judenburger Masters swimmers shine with 20 medals in Linz
At the ASKÖ federal championships, which recently took place in Linz, the Masters quintet of the Judenburg swimming sports section, communicated from the Murtal region, managed to achieve an impressive total number of 20 medals. 250 participants from 22 clubs competed against each other, which makes the performance even more remarkable. The team consisted of five members: Dagmar Puffing, Fritz Gossar, Herwig Rattinger, Gernot Pirkwieser and Dietmar Hierzer.
Dagmar Puffing, which started in the age group 60 (AK 60), showed an outstanding performance with a total of six gold medals and two runner -up titles. This means that she dominated the races in her age group and swum almost undisputed to the top. Her teammate Fritz Gossar (AK 75) won four federal championship titles, which demonstrates its versatility and durability in this challenge.

Herwig Rattinger (AK 75) was also successful and was able to win both gold and silver in several disciplines. Gernot Pirkwieser, who competed in AK 65, returned after a long break and secured a gold and silver medal, so that he could find it back to the medal area. Another success was Dietmar Hierzer (AK 60), which was previously known as a triathlete and achieved a bronze medal during his first swimming competition.
The Judenburg team was also able to win a gold medal in the season over the 4 × 50 meters, which underlines the strong team performance. These successes not only set individualistic lighting points, but also focused on the entire team.
The successful appearance in Linz now enables the master's team to qualify for the "CSIT World Sports Games" in Greece. This international event not only offers a platform for competitions, but also the opportunity to compete with other athletes from all over the world. Such a high number of medals and titles will certainly also strengthen motivation and team spirit with the athletes.
