Magical Encounter: Harry Potter Service Draws Crowds!

Attendance has skyrocketed at an extraordinary service designed in the magical style of Harry Potter. Due to high demand, around 50 interested people had to be turned away at the last event due to lack of space, which prompted those responsible to offer further celebrations of this kind. Pastor Marcus Hütter explained that the reporting on these services has sparked interest not only nationally but also internationally. This resulted in a large number of letters from across the country, highlighting the need to organize additional events. This special service will be held on February 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Guests need a free seat ticket, which can be reserved via the Evangelical Church of the Redeemer homepage ORF Styria reported.

Magical experiences in church services

The theme of the service, “The Chamber of Blessings,” is borrowed from the Harry Potter novel “The Chamber of Secrets.” For this purpose, a large, fascinating chamber is set up in the chancel, where various blessings are offered. Hütter emphasizes the importance of saying God's blessing to people in uncertain times like these. “Harry Potter goes through dark times - here too, not only magical powers, but also love, faith and trust are crucial for moving forward,” he explained. Special highlights of the service will be film clips and creative theater performances, while an ensemble from the University of Vienna Choir and a duet of young singers from the Church of the Redeemer will provide the musical accompaniment.

The service attracts not only the faithful, but also fans of Harry Potter, who will often appear in costume. After the ceremony, guests are invited to a cozy church coffee with cauldron cake and polyjuice drink.
