Tragedy in the air: Flight attendant dies after chaos flight!
A dramatic incident hit Swiss Aviation on December 23rd when an Airbus A220-300 had to make an emergency landing at Graz Airport due to smoke in the cockpit and cabin. Ten passengers and four crew members required medical attention in this incident. A 23-year-old flight attendant was resuscitated but died on December 30 as a result of a lack of oxygen today.at reported. After the emergency, the aircraft was extensively examined and the cause of the smoke was a defective engine, which has since been replaced.
Technical problems and investigations
The aircraft was now supposed to be returned to Zurich, but another emergency occurred on the landing approach, forcing the pilots to make a second landing attempt. Fortunately, the plane's crew was eventually able to land the plane safely in Zurich. What is frightening is the fact that the flight attendant's oxygen supply was found to be severe oxygen deficiency during the autopsy, indicating massive brain damage. The Graz public prosecutor's office has initiated investigations into possible negligent bodily harm, particularly with regard to the use of possibly faulty oxygen masks, such as courier.at highlighted.
Additional toxicological tests are still pending to clarify further connections between the death of the flight attendant and the technical defects. In this context, it is also being investigated which respiratory mask was used on the affected flight. Swiss had already identified difficulties with these masks, but this only delayed their replacement. The Airbus A220-300 had 74 passengers and five crew on board on its last scheduled flight, and the incident marked the most consequential in Swiss's 23-year history.
