Styrian sergeant in court: Nazi collection uncovered!
A Styrian sergeant is standing before a jury in Graz because of serious allegations. The 49-year-old is accused of setting up a museum in his wife's home with over a hundred Nazi memorabilia, including horrific relics such as uniforms, long guns and a Hitler altar. This reports Krone.at. The charges include not only national socialist reactivation, but also illegal possession of weapons. The brutal discovery came to light when the landlord of his garage opened it due to rent arrears. What is shocking is that he sent pictures of his underage son wearing a steel helmet with a swastika via WhatsApp.
Resistance and defense
His defense attorney, Christian Fauland, makes serious allegations against the public prosecutor, who allegedly presented false facts. The non-commissioned officer asserts that he is only interested in military history: “I am only interested in military events,” he explains. But the presiding judge, Michaela Lapanje, confronts him directly about why he is exhibiting such incriminating material. There is a possibility of revenge after a colleague reports racist comments. Fauland notes that it is known among his colleagues that his client collects devotional items.
Training for the rank of non-commissioned officer, which plays a key role in the Austrian and German armed forces, could now be under a dark cloud. Wikipedia describes the non-commissioned officer as a rank that is considered the backbone of the troops in various military positions. The 49-year-old may have irrevocably damaged the confidence that exists in his military career potential. A verdict in this sensational case is still expected today.
