Ski Jumping World Cup: ÖSV and DSV start the new season strong!

The highly anticipated 2024/2025 Ski Jumping World Cup season began today in Lillehammer, Norway. From 3:15 p.m. there will be the second men's individual, where the Austrian athletes will compete full of confidence after previously achieving several podium finishes. Stefan Kraft, who won two competitions last year, is particularly in the spotlight laola1.at reported.

At the start there are also mixed competitions on the program, in which the German mixed team is currently in the lead ahead of Norway and Austria. The placement of 69 ski jumpers from 18 nations and 65 female ski jumpers from 16 countries in the first competition illustrates the international presence and the high competitive pressure. Particular attention will be paid to the return of German crowd favorite Markus Eisenbichler after a difficult previous season when he remained in the first team last April. Hopes also rest on Andreas Wellinger, who is considered one of the favorites skijumping.com announced.

Look at the competitions

The season includes a total of 36 competitions in the men's World Cup calendar, including the prestigious Four Hills Tournament and the Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim.
