Hard fall! Nils Alphand hospitalized after crash during training!
Great concern in the French ski team! Nils Alphand, the talented 28-year-old downhill skier, made alarming news after he fell heavily during final training for the downhill in Crans-Montana. The incident occurred on Friday when Alphand lost consciousness and remained motionless in the snow after less than a minute of riding, according to the French Ski Association. A helicopter was immediately requested to fly him to the nearest hospital in Sion, where he was stabilized with a neck brace. Fortunately, initial scans revealed no serious injuries, but he remains in hospital for observation. As Laola1 reported.
Training interruption and information for the sporting future
The dramatic fall led to the immediate interruption of training, which cast a shadow over the entire event. Alphand, son of three-time downhill World Cup winner Luc Alphand, achieved a solid 17th place in the first training session on Thursday. Expectations were correspondingly high as he prepared for the upcoming departure on Saturday. Despite the incident, other athletes, such as the Swiss Stefan Rogentin and Dominik Paris from South Tyrol, were able to impress during the training rides. Daniel Hemetsberger from Austria also performed well and landed in the top ten , as the Kleine Zeitung reported.
