On June 27, 2025, a serious work accident occurred at 8:42 a.m. on a construction site in Marchtrenk, in the Wels-Land, Upper Austria district. A concrete pillar that was heavily unloaded with a crane fell and met two workers who were seriously injured. The accident concerned a 39-year-old crane driver from the region and two workers aged 27 and 51 from Linz. According to reports from 5min showed that the chain of the crane presumably got caught on the pillar or a wood, which was curtailed for the fall of the concrete pillar led.

The two injured workers were immediately taken to the hospital. The 27-year-old was transported to the Wels Clinic, while the 51-year-old was flown to the UKH Linz with a rescue helicopter.
