A tragic accident at work shocked Styria: a 25-year-old man lost his life in an incident in Gersdorf an der Mur. The young worker was busy moving containers of scrap with a forklift when, for reasons that are still unclear, a stack of pressed scrap cars tipped over and buried the worker oe24 reported. The alarm was raised by his colleagues, but the rescue team was only able to determine that the 25-year-old was dead. The accident is of tragic proportions and the circumstances are currently the subject of further investigation.
Meanwhile, another serious accident occurred in the Tauernschleuse Mallnitz-Böckstein tunnel, in which two Croatian workers were injured. A 30-year-old Styrian, who was reversing on a rail-mounted work machine, overlooked a stationary work machine, which led to a collision. The two men, 36 and 37 years old, had to be transported to clinics in rescue helicopters after initial treatment on site small newspaper reported. One of the injured workers has now been released from hospital while on-site investigations closed the entire area for several hours.
