The city of Salzburg is once again showing solidarity with Ukraine by providing five decommissioned waste service vehicles. On December 17, 2024, Deputy Mayor Florian Kreibich handed over the vehicles - including two flatbed trucks and three compacted waste vehicles - to the aid organization “With Ukraine!”. These vehicles, which can no longer be used in Austria due to their age and poor technical condition, should continue to be used in Ukraine after necessary, cost-effective repairs there. Kreibich emphasized the importance of supporting the suffering civilian population, who have been dependent on help since the war began in February 2022, as well as MyDistrict.at was reported.

This donation is part of a sustainable initiative by the city of Salzburg, which donated twelve additional vehicles to Ukraine two years ago. The donation not only extends the service life of the vehicles, but also provides urgently needed support in the form of work equipment. The vehicles are transported by volunteers who ensure that the vehicles reach Ukraine safely and promptly. Representatives of the Ukrainian community also thanked for the donation and emphasized how important these vehicles are for local help SALZBURG24 reported.

Overall, the city of Salzburg is once again demonstrating its commitment to humanitarian aid and support for people affected by the war in Ukraine.
