Rene Rast cracks records and celebrates DTM victory in Zandvoort!

In the second race of the 2025 DTM season in Zandvoort, Thomas Preining (Manthey-Porsche) won third place. This is its second podium placement this racing season, while Lucas Auer (Landgraf Mercedes) was also able to collect points with a seventh place. René Rast (Schubert-BMW), on the other hand, celebrated his first victory this season and at the same time achieved his 26 pole position, which overtook Bernd Schneider as the most successful qualifying pilot in DTM history. Together with Marco Wittmann (Schubert-BMW), who took second place, the BMW team experienced a double victory and thus impressively showed their strength in this race.

The two BMW pilots Rast and Wittmann had a comfortable lead of 6.1 seconds on Preining at the finish line. Nevertheless, after contact with Jack Aitken (Emil-Frey-Ferrari), Wittmann was observed with the race management and received a 5-second penalty.
