David Alaba, a key player of the team, will not be in the squad due to persistent problems after a meniscal tear. Gernot Trauner is also closed to the first game against Romania. However, his return is expected in the following games. Marco Friedl was also appointed back into the selection. Compared to the previous squad, six players are missing, including Alexander Schlager and some others who are not ready for use for various reasons. The team must therefore make a particularly effort to achieve the goals set.
Overall, the team is on a good basic structure, but the many failures could make the task of winning against Romania. The anticipation for the qualification games is growing and the fans hope for a successful appearances by the ÖFB team next weekend.
