Austria's biathlon stars shine at the European Championships in Nove Mesto!

In the breathtaking backdrop of Nové Město Na Moravě, where the 55th European forestry northern schi competitions took place between 9 and 15 February, the Austrian team shone with 35 participants, including a delegation from East Tyrol. As dolomitenstadt reported, the athletes aged 8 to 83 carried out their competitions under extreme conditions with cool temperatures and challenging trails. Their efforts were rewarded with a medal in gold, two in silver and four bronze medals, whereby the young talent Helena Gaia Kreiner with medals in all three disciplines particularly emphasized. The relay success also ensured happy faces in the Austrian camp.

Festival of the nations and upcoming events

The festival of the nations formed a special degree in which culinary delicacies from all participating countries were presented. The Austrians brought specialties such as Carinthian Reindling and Tyrolean bacon, while the participants danced to music until late at night. The atmosphere was excellent and everyone is hoping for a reunion next year in Forni Avoltri, Italy.

But that's not all: from March 6th to March 9th, 2025, Nové Město will again become the center of the biathlon when the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon takes place. According to biathlonnmnm.cz , the official ticket sale begins on October 18, with preliminary purchases for fans of the previous events possible. Different ticket types offer viewers the opportunity to enjoy a whole weekend full of biathlon action, including a toilet pass for the entire six competitions. The prices vary so that both VIP guests and occasional visitors get their money's worth.
