ÖBB starts with 25 additional trains for Formula 1 weekend!
In the period from June 27th to 29th, 2025, fans of Formula 1 on the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg enjoy an exciting race weekend that begins at the beginning of the summer vacation in Austria. In order to cope with the expected rush of visitors, which will be high again in 2025, the ÖBB have significantly expanded their access. As 5min.at reports, a total of 25 additional connections and around 8,400 additional seats are available to guarantee a stress-free arrival and departure.
The extended access requirement primarily affects heavily frequented routes such as the south and west route. In order to cope with the high rush, some connections are extended and supplemented by special trains. The buses run from Friday to Sunday every 20 minutes between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. and every 30 minutes until 11 p.m. (Sunday until 8:00 p.m.).
Since an increased volume of traffic is also to be expected on the streets, the event management recommends arriving early. For visitors who arrive by car, there are various route recommendations from the surrounding regions. Troat tunnels must be observed, which is why a digital route should be purchased in advance.
Visitors who want to travel by motorcycle or bicycle will find special parking spaces near the Red Bull Ring, as well as camping opportunities from Wednesday and Thursday, which should be organized in advance.
ÖBB and event management do everything possible to enable the numerous fans of motorsport to travel. The combination of an extended range, shuttle services and increased traffic management shows how important a well-planned journey is for the success of the event.
