Future of Rohrbach-Berg: Share ideas for a life worth living!
There is currently a lot of discussion in the community of Rohrbach-Berg about the future of housing and life. The Greens, represented by state parliament member Ulrike Schwarz, recently highlighted the current challenges affecting the city and its residents. The diverse needs of the population change over time and influence how the community should respond to developments.
“Living in green areas, short distances to the center, and a secure energy and water supply are just some of the things we need in our community,” explains Schwarz. These aspects are the responsibility of the mayor and the local council, but this often leads to conflicts of interest.
Active participation and climate protection
Ulrike Schwarz emphasizes the importance of the community actively implementing climate protection. This not only includes preserving green spaces, but also trying to bring more trees into the city center to counteract heat islands. “We demand that no new settlements be built on greenfield sites and want to talk to citizens in order to question and further develop our ideas,” said Schwarz.
At the same time, numerous apartments are currently being built in Rohrbach-Berg, both by private and non-profit investors. This raises questions: Are these apartments affordable for people with lower incomes, or are they rented out at a higher price? How is it ensured that new residents are well integrated into club life and that sufficient services are available?
In view of these questions, the Green Group invites all interested parties to take an active part and to work on the future development concept. An event entitled “How should our city develop?” will take place on Tuesday, October 15th at 7 p.m. at b34 in Rohrbach-Berg. Schwarz calls on all citizens to contribute their ideas and opinions in order to find solutions together.
Such exchange is crucial to take into account the needs of both the existing population and those of new arrivals. The Greens are committed to creating a vibrant and climate-fit community through constructive discussions that responds to the needs of all citizens.
