50 years of the Perg Commercial Academy: A review of five decades of success
The Perg Commercial Academy can look back on an impressive success story of 50 years. The anniversary was celebrated on Friday, September 27th, in the Perg gym. Numerous guests from education, politics and the former student body were present to attend this special event.
Since its foundation in 1974, the HAK Perg has prepared a total of 2,439 graduates for their way to their professional life. In her opening speech, director Gabriela Teubenbacher emphasized that the HAK is considered the Economic School of Perg, which offers numerous extensions.
A look back with a special format
Moderated by Mario Sacher as part of a "couch discussion", the school was looked back. Important personalities were represented, including Judith Prorok from the University of Education OÖ and Manfred Nenning, a successful HAK graduate and managing director. In an entertaining reminiscence, objects from the past five decades have been presented, including an old schedule and a mechanical typewriter that provided insights into the developments of everyday school life in recent years.
Education director Alfred Klampfer and Mayor Anton Froschauer looked at the changes within the educational landscape. The importance of the anniversaries was emphasized in order to both appreciate and to draw motivation for future challenges. "It is important to celebrate anniversaries. This is where connections are made for life," says Froschauer.
Special guests and musical accompaniment
Special guests of honor on this festive day were members of the first Matura class and alumni of the "Stirer Association" from 1982. These alumni still maintain close friendships. The school band "Schoolyard Revolution" and the wind ensemble of the HAK provided musical accompaniment. Another highlight was Ibrahim Sherbaji, a HAK graduent from 2019, who received great applause for his performance.
The organization of the anniversary was taken over by a group of Maturants as part of their diploma thesis, under the guidance of Professor Gudrun Lated. Marco Hofer and Matthias Froschauer were also responsible for creating a school image film that presents the past and presence of the HAK.
